David R. Dillon
David R. Dillon is an experienced workforce development professional with an extensive background in the tech, philanthropy, and non-profit sectors, dedicated to equipping untapped talent with in-demand skills for career success. At Cognizant, he led over 30
in-demand skills trainings for U.S. job-seekers resulting in over 350 hires across various business service lines and launched Cognizant Skills Accelerator – overseeing an immersive, virtual training in areas such as software development and Generative AI for over 1,300 external candidates across North America.
Previously, at CUNY, David forged tech partnerships and supported the New York Jobs CEO Council's commitment to hire 100,000 low-income New Yorkers. David also made significant contributions to initiatives like Secretary Clinton's Job One and Mayor Bloomberg's NYC Service, as well as launching Stephen A. Schwarzman’s Schwarzman Scholarship.
Currently, as a Jobs for the Future (JFF) Talent of Tomorrow Fellow, David focuses on advancing career pathways for community college learners. He holds an MA in Higher Education from New York University and a BFA in Nonfiction Creative Writing from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Passionate about the impact of demographic shifts on the future of work, David is an advocate for cross-generational dialogue, upskilling, and professional development.
When he’s not in the office, David can be found running through Fort Greene Park or walking his dog, Murphy, in Brooklyn.
